Struggling with the menopause?

Having been a holistic therapist for over 20 years, it was only a matter of time before I myself would start experiencing perimenopause, followed by menopausal symptoms.

Being a holistic therapist, I am always keen to seek a natural approach where possible and believe, if we listen to the body, we can often receive the guidance we need as to what will support our wellbeing journey 💜

One of those answers came to me with Tai Chi Qigong. Studying this healing art has many depths and layers and you don’t need to know everything to receive its benefits.

Having dipped in and out of Qigong over the years, when I trained to become a session leader a few years ago, I was perimenopausal – I hadn’t had a period for 6 months or so and I was experiencing hot flushes, sweats, weight gain. The joys!

As part of our training, we had to practice the Qigong set on a daily basis to gain more depth and understanding to our practice. It wasn’t until one of our training weekends when we were discussing how we’d got on and any benefits we’d experienced that it dawned on me that my hot flushes and sweats had stopped!

My body was responding to the Tai Chi Qigong and was in a more harmonious state as a result of performing these gentle movements ☯

I’m not asking you to go away and learn the whole set, however regular sessions and performing 1-2 movements at home on a daily basis may help you discover that freedom from hot flushes, sweats, mood swings and the rollercoaster of emotions.

Qigong has its focus on the breath – and breathing properly is a huge part of reducing those feelings of anxiety, reconnecting to your body and calming your mind.

When we feel more calm and connected, our body isn’t in that fight/flight state which is so easily triggered with the menopause. As a result, we feel more content and happier in ourselves ❤

A simple, yet powerful way of being able to help yourself navigate your journey through the menopause.

Why not join us and discover this healing art for yourself? 🙏
